For the first time in a month, the Wyoming Cowboys lost a game. San Diego State knocked off the 25th-ranked Cowboys 60-52 Wednesday night.

The loss snapped a seven-game win streak and a 13-game home winning streak for UW.

San Diego State (13-4, 3-1) went on a 12-2 run midway through the second half and held off all challenges by the Pokes. Wyoming pulled within five points twice in the final 90 seconds, but the Aztecs made 9-of-12 free throws.

Wyoming (15-3, 4-1) was hurt by second chance points and point off turnovers. The Aztecs were plus-8 on the offensive glass, which led to 15 second chance points. They had a 34-26 advantage in rebounding. San Diego State also cashed in on 13 Cowboy turnovers and managed 16 points off those.

The Aztecs were led by Aqeel Quinn with 14 points. Trey Kell scored 12 points off the bench, and Winston Shepard added 10. SDSU got a boost from its bench and outscored the UW reserves 24-0. They shot 37 percent from the floor.

Larry Nance Jr. led the Pokes with 19 points and eight rebounds. Josh Adams added 14 points. Wyoming shot 42 percent from the field.

It was the Aztecs' second win over a Top 25 team this season. They've also defeated No. 8 Utah.

With Wyoming's first conference loss, there's a four-way tie atop the Mountain West men's basketball standings. The Cowboys and Aztecs, along with Fresno State and New Mexico all have one loss.

Wyoming will look to bounce back against the Bulldogs in Fresno, CA Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., Mountain Time.
