Albany County Volunteers Raise Record Funds for Cowboy Joe
The 2012 Albany County Fund Drive raised a record $380,678 in just one week for the Cowboy Joe Club. More than 60 volunteers helped bring in the money, which will go towards educational and operational costs of University of Wyoming student-athletes.
Laramie Man Arrested for Stealing from Unlocked Cars
After two months of items disappearing from unlocked vehicles around Laramie, police say they have arrested Robert Akin Simpson after discovering a backpack containing stolen items. Laramie Police Department Commander Mitch Cushman says subsequent investigation revealed a stolen vehicle, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and several electronic devices such as iPods and laptops.

Senior Design Symposium Features Wyoming Engineering and Applied Science Student Projects
Over 100 students have their chance to show what they’ve been learning at the University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Applied Science 17th annual Senior Design Symposium. The senior will exhibit and present individual and team design projects ranging from The Niobrara Potential in Wyoming to the re-design of 15th Street between Garfield Street and Willett Drive in Laramie.
Laramie City Council to Award Two New Liquor Licenses
Two more retail liquor licenses are available to the City of Laramie and interested parties have started to make their case. Laramie received the licenses because of its increased population in the 2010 census. The city council could award the licenses to any of the eight parties who expressed interest during Tuesday’s work session.
Unofficial Results: Laramie City Council Members Will be Elected From 3 Wards
The unofficial results from the Nov. 8th Special Election show the second option on the ballot to have been the most popular. According to Albany County Clerk, Jackie Gonzalez, 772 of the 1776 ballots cast were in favor of three city councilmen being elected from each ward.

Wyomingites will Occupy Laramie on Saturday, Oct. 22nd, to stand in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Organizers of the protest say the movement will reflect a diversity of need in America that are currently not being met.
Cowboy Basketball Begins With A Night of Madness This Friday [AUDIO]

Wyoming Homecoming Parade Names Grand Marshal
The 2011 University of Wyoming Homecoming parade will be lead by Phil Roberts, an associate professor of history at UW. The annual parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 with this year’s theme, “Wanted: Cowboys of the West.” After starting at 9th and Ivison streets, the procession will head west to 2nd Street, then south to Grand Avenue where the parade will head east to 12th Street.
