At Least 15 People Injured in Pileup on Icy Interstate 80 in Wyoming [PHOTOS]

A multiple-vehicle crash on a frozen stretch of Interstate 80 near Evanston sent over a dozen people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Six ambulances took over 15 people to Evanston Regional Hospital with varying degrees of injuries shortly after 1:45 p.m., according to Uinta County Fire and Ambulance.

A school bus from Evanston took about 10 more uninjured people who were involved in the crash to Evanston.

No deaths have been reported.

An ambulance from Sweetwater County en route to Salt Lake City, Utah was reportedly stuck in traffic behind the crash.

An Evanston ambulance was able to get to the stuck ambulance. The patient was transferred and taken to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Photos show several tractor-trailers were involved in the crash.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, according to Uinta County Fire and Ambulance. The Patrol did not immediately return a request for comment Wednesday night.

As of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Interstate 80 was closed due to winter conditions from Evanston to Exit 30 at Lyman, as well as from Rock Springs to Laramie.

I-80 westbound was closed from Cheyenne to Laramie due to a request from local authorities.

Stretches of Interstate 80 closed from Rock Springs to Cheyenne were expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to WyoRoad.info.
