Ask The City – What Can I Do About People Not Obeying the Leash Laws?

What can be done about the people that do not obey the leash law in Laramie? I walk my dog on a leash in the housing area from 9th to 15th south of Russell/Spring Creek and I get confronted by a loose dog every single time. Is there a way the city can have police patrol the area more or maybe send out a flyer informing all residents about the leash law? Its kind of crappy that I'm scared to take my dog for a walk sometimes because I don't know how aggressive they could be.

The City's Response:

6.4.060 of Laramie Municipal Code requires all dogs to be leashed within the City limits.  If you see violations of this ordinance you should immediately call Dispatch at 721.2526 and report the violation, providing a description of the person and location of the violation.  That way, either Animal Control officers or Patrol officers can respond and address the problem.
