The Question:

The rabbit population in this town is out of control! Is there anything going to be done about them?

The Answer:

"The cottontail population in Laramie are considered non-domesticated (wild) animals and as such they are not controlled by Animal Control. They will not provide traps or use any extermination processes either. It is widely thought that when the local fox population died out that the rabbit population started to increase. For residential control, there are a number of commercially available products that can be used to repel rabbits from lawns or gardens. It is not legal to use any sort of weapon (BB gun, sling shot) to control the animals.
