The Question:

Why is the road to Linford Elementary not paved?

The Answer:

“Except state highways, the roads in west Laramie, include those around Linford Elementary School, have only been paved in the past approximately 20 years. West Laramie was developed as a County subdivision and paving was historically not desired by property owners at the time.

The City recently issued a Request for Proposals for the drainage analysis in the vicinity of the school. We hope to have an engineer on board in July or early August to begin work on the analysis and eventual design of roadway improvements. Plans should be in place for the construction of improvements by next construction season. This is a collaborative effort between the City and the school district plus we have been successfully (preliminary) in securing grant funding for the construction of paved roads adjacent to the school.”
