Ask The City: Illegal Dumping

The Question:

Is it illegal to dump garbage in a dumpster that you are not assigned, even if it's not a city owned dumpster? If so, who do you report this illegal dumping to?

8.16.050 Use of receptacle belonging to another forbidden. No person shall deposit garbage or refuse in any garbage or refuse receptacle owned, leased, or provided for the use of another, without the permission of the owner, lessee, or person for whose use the receptacle is provided. This section does not apply to the use of garbage or refuse receptacles which are intended for public use.
