Ask The City – Can You Tow The Abandoned Cars on 4th Street?

There are some abandoned cars and trailers on 4th Street. Two cars are right in front of the city parking lot at 4th and University! They have sat for months, if not years! Why haven't they been ticketed or towed?

The City's Response:

The City has mechanisms to remove abandoned vehicles (vehicles that are not drivable or that do not have current registration) as well as an ordinance that allows homeowners or renters to have vehicles marked for 24 hour ordinance and then towed if they are not moved after that period of time.  You can call Dispatch  at 721.2526 any time of the day and an officer will take appropriate enforcement action for the vehicle parked adjacent to your property or in the neighborhood.
