Question:

When are they going to stop people from driving in the Reynold's Street bike lanes? I saw a junior high kid almost get hit by an F-150 on 15th and Reynolds when someone tried to pass everyone on the right to go north on 15th Street.

Answer:

“It is not necessarily illegal for cars to enter into marked bike lanes.  Cyclists, whether a marked bike lane exists or not, are required by ordinance to ride as far to the right as practical.  If car drivers can move to the right into marked bike lanes the movement must be made safely.  If a crash occurred the driver could be cited for an unsafe passing movement.  If you observe an action like this you can call Dispatch at 721.2526 and officers will investigate the incident.”
