The Laramie Police Department has made an arrest for a murder committed in 1972.

Laramie Police Department detectives arrested 61 year old Lance David Bean for Murder in the First Degree of Sharon Reher. The body of Sharon Reher, a 20 year old white female, was found in her apartment, located at 810 Kearney St. in Laramie, Wyoming.

Reher had last been seen alive on April 16th, 1972 at 4:20 AM when she was dropped off outside of her apartment. Reher’s throat had been severed and the scene was suggestive of a sexual assault.

Detectives have been working this cold case following up on leads and rumors since the occurrence. Sharon Reher’s next of kin have been in communication with the Laramie Police Department over the last 42 years and they have been notified of this arrest.

Murder in the First Degree in 1972 carried with it a penalty of death or life imprisonment at hard Labor.
