Two years after performing An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, the Albany County Theatre is bringing the popular production back to Laramie. In the Spring of 2010, the play had to move from venue to venue, but Director Bliss Ragsdale says the renovation of the Gryphon Theatre gives them a chance to enter back into the darkly comic world of Silverstein with a better production.

Improvements include the ability to have a live band on stage instead of simply playing recorded pieces as well as adding some of Silverstein's artwork to the set. The idea is to make the play more of a piece of living art according to Ragsdale.

Auditions for the production are being held through next week. Ragsdale expects to begin a casual rehearsal schedule on April 9th and then run the play June 21st - 23rd at Gryphon Theatre. A possible performance in Saratoga is also in the works.

If you are interested in joining the production, send an email to albanycountytheatre@gmail.com with the "ACT Auditions" in the subject line.
