Albany County Clean-Up Day is back once again on Saturday, August 23. This gives Albany County residents free admittance to the landfill starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

Residents can unload their trash, appliances, tires, e-waste, batteries and all sorts of other things that are cluttering their homes and properties, all for free. The landfill is located at 112 Roger Canyon Road from N. Ninth Street.

Event organizers say it is very important that anyone bringing refrigerators and tires get a voucher number from the County Planning Office. Voucher numbers can be obtained by stopping by the office at 1002 S. Third Street, by e-mailing cleanup@co.albany.wy.us or by calling them at 721-2568. These items will be accepted for free only with a voucher number. Organizers add that voucher numbers are important because those items are paid for by the planning office, so they would like to plan ahead and get an estimate as to how many people would like to bring them to the landfill. They add that voucher numbers may be available at the dump entrance that day, but only if funds allow.

Property owners are responsible for getting their own items to the landfill.

Hazardous household waste such as paint, oil, herbicides and pesticides will not be accepted at the landfill. To dispose of those items, call the Albany County Hazardous Waste Program at 721-5279 from 9 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule a drop off time.

No commercial waste will be accepted.

For additional information, call the Albany County Planning Office at 721-2568.
