UWYO.EDU Release:

Goals for the 2013-14 academic year, a discussion about tuition and fees, and an update on administrative searches are on the agenda for the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees Thursday and Friday, Nov. 14-15.

The meeting begins with an executive session at 8 a.m. Thursday in Room 506 of Coe Library. All meetings are open to the public except for executive sessions.

Public testimony will be accepted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The business meeting, in which trustees take formal action on agenda items, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday -- but the time could change depending upon the time necessary to complete the board’s work on Friday.

Members of the Board of Trustees are scheduled to take part in an annual reception recognizing student scholarship recipients from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites, followed by a 7-9 p.m. reception hosted by the UW Faculty Senate at the UW Conference Center.

The open portion of Thursday’s meeting begins at 10 a.m. in Coe Library, as the board’s Academic and Research Committee (Room 504); Fiscal and Legal Affairs Committee (Room 502H); and Student Affairs/Athletics/Administration/Information Technology Committee (Room 310) are scheduled to meet for an hour.

Starting at 11 a.m. Thursday, the board meets as a whole in Room 506 of Coe Library to hear committee reports before the 11:30 a.m. public testimony period.

Among the topics slated for consideration Thursday afternoon is a discussion about tuition and fees, set for 1:45 p.m. President Bob Sternberg is scheduled to update the board on administrative searches at 3:30 p.m., followed by an update about the Wyoming Governor’s Energy, Engineering, STEM Integration Task Force at 3:45 p.m.

The board is scheduled to take part in a working dinner with members of UW’s Energy Resources Council at 6 p.m. Thursday at the UW Conference Center.

Friday’s meeting begins with breakfast for the board at 7:30 a.m. in Room 506 of Coe Library. From 9-11:15 a.m., the trustees are scheduled to hear a Cowboy Ethics presentation in Room 123 of the Business Building.

The board is scheduled to return to Room 506 of Coe Library for a 1 p.m. presentation by Sternberg about his goals for the 2013-14 academic year, along with the 3 p.m. business meeting.
