Laramie junior Jake Aadland has earned All-State honors from the Wyoming Coaches Association for the 2014-15 high school basketball season.

He was one of five players from Laramie High School who received recognition.

Aadland was one of 12 players selected to the 4A All-State team. He also received 4A East All-Conference honors.

Laramie head coach Chuck Kern said,

"We're really excited for Jake; just how well he played in the conference, especially at the start... He really carried us on the offensive end."

The junior guard led the Plainsmen in scoring this season at 15.9 points per game and finished with 317 total points. He was the fifth leading scorer in class 4A. Aadland also led Laramie in scoring in 15 of their 21 games last season. That included a career-high 28 points against Cheyenne Central on Feb. 5, 2015.

He shot 48 percent from the field, which included 34 percent on 3-point field goal attempts. Aadland led class 4A in free throw shooting at 84 percent. He also added 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Kern added the biggest step between Aadland's sophomore and junior year was how much stronger he got.

"Jake really got it done in the weight room. He always been a talented offensive player; we've know that for a long time. What was really impressive was how much he grew as a defender, and how much he grew as a rebounder. A lot of that had to do with his work in the weight room in the off-season."

Also receiving accolades for the Plainsmen were senior forward Tristan Eickbush and senior guard Andy Pearson.

Eickbush was named Second Team All-Conference in the 4A East. He led the Plainsmen on the glass with 6.4 rebounds per game. He also averaged 10 points per game. Eickbush shot 51 percent from the field.

Pearson garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference. He averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He shot 39 percent from beyond the arc.

The Plainsmen finished the season 12-9 overall and 5-5 in the East Conference.

Senior guard Savannah Cox was tabbed Second Team All-Conference in the 4A East. She led the Lady Plainsmen in scoring and assists per game. Cox averaged 8.7 points and 1.9 assists per game.

She knocked down 29 three's this season to pace the LHS girl's. Cox also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per contest.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Kyle Stucky called her the heart and soul of the team.

"It's always cool to hear the other coaches talk about your kids, and how they game plan against you. Savannah's very well-deserving of the recognition for all the hard-work that she put in in the off-season and throughout her career."

Sophomore forward Eliza Dickinson was the Laramie girls' other honoree. She earned Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Dickinson led the Lady Plainsmen in rebounding last season at 5.3 per game. She also was tops on the squad with 41 steals. She averaged 6.7 points per game. Dickinson made and attempted the most free throws on the team.

The Laramie girl's ended their season at 5-17 overall and 0-10 in the 4A East.

Of note, the 4A boys' Player of the Year was senior Chris Quayle of Riverton, while Sheridan senior Dylan Daniels earned that distinction in the 4A East Conference. Gillette junior Jessie Geer and Sheridan junior Robbi Ryan shared 4A Player of the Year honors for the State and the East Conference.
