It's time to take the pitch! The 2014 season begins today for the Wyoming Cowgirls.

UW opens on the road at Kansas at 6 p.m. today. Then, they come home for their lone non-conference match at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex, when the Cowgirls take on Montana Sunday at 1 p.m.

Pete Cuadrado enters his third season as head soccer coach at the University of Wyoming. His squad finished 7-11-4 last season. That did include a victory in the Mountain West tournament, as the Cowgirls advanced to the quarterfinals for only the second time in program history.

Wyoming returns 12 players with starting experience from last year, and a total of 14 letterwinners.

Cuadrado provides a glimpse back at last season and looks ahead to the new campaign. He believes the squad this year will be strong defensively and attack by committee.

If you want to see the Cowgirls in action, we suggest you catch the match at home Sunday, August 24. Wyoming will not return to the home pitch for over a month (9/26) and has only six home matches all season.
